Mid-Winter Cleaning..

This little fella went with all the other plush to LA for the G1988 Plush Week show. I forgot to post a picture of him with the other guys under the “news” section. Its no wonder he is sad!

I did some “mid-winter” cleaning of my fiber stash today. It has been out of hand for quite awhile. So I went through and took out either #1 stuff I have had for a long time and have never used. Or #2 Things I used a little of, and probably wouldn’t use more of for awhile. I came away with 5lbs of fiber to sell. I listed it up on Ebay. It feels weird to sell something on Ebay again. I haven’t in over three or four years!

The books of our lives..

In this family if there is one thing we like to do..its read. We got to the library a lot, but we also frequent the local used bookstores (and we have some really good ones too!) We’ve got books in the kitchen…

Books in the dining room…This is a new shelf we just bought, gotta love ikea for those great big shelves! As you can tell it still has a bunch of great big empty spots. Just an excuse to buy more books if you ask me.

This shelf is in the livingroom. It has gotten pretty full over the years, looks like it times to clean it up a bit.

Even the kid’s room is filled with books. These are just two of the shelves. The other two are next to the windows and the photos keep coming out too dark. My ten year old is a bit of a book junkie….makes a mom proud!

The other day I order the book Appendix A by AM Homes, it is a bit of a sequel (or further look into) the disturbing book The End Of Alice. While looking around on Amazon I saw she had a new book coming out in April. Well being the impatient person I am, I decided to see if I could find an advance reading copy, and voila! I found a copy on half.com and soon the book will be in my eager little hands 3 months early! :) Granted it will be an uncorrected proof, but I dont mind at all! I thought I’d share that little tip with those of you who might be equally as bad at the waiting game.

The cauliflower is in the mustard family (I did not know that) and it is considered a herb. It is said to have a whiteish underdeveloped “flower” with a large edible head. Gotta love online dictionaries.

Today Jessee and I drove to Rockville for the first meeting of the newly formed D.C. Craft Mafia. It was such a nice lunch with some great gals. It was really great to see Tina + Jeff again. They brought their twin babies who everytime I have ever seen them are so happy + smiley. Today was no exception, full of smiles.. they really are wonder-parents!

There is this great group on Flickr called Corners of my home It is so much fun to go through all the photos. I am going to upload some of my own soon. The above two photos were taken in my kitchen. Gotta love Ebay for fun goodies like the plastic pots + pans with faces. Best part is when I won the auction I had no idea they were so large. The auction didn’t include anything about demensions, so I had assumed they would be little. I was very pleasantly surprised!

The second photo is a shelf that hangs in the kitchen. We originally purchased it for holding spices, but the toys have taken over and forced the spice jars into the cupboard!
