Last night I took a break from some sewing I am doing for a group show, and made myself a fabric wrapped fruit bowl. I followed the instructions here and actually had everything I needed on hand, and it didn’t take as long as I imagined it would. I am going to keep these in mind for those times when I need a container to hold a bunch of small gifts, etc. It was really fun to make too.
Here is a peek at the show stuff I mentioned. They are two separate plush, for two different shows. I will be mailing them off soon and then I will post proper photos and explain them a little more. I know the half frozen guy looks a bit odd, but he will make more sense when I explain things.
My mom is coming to visit very soon, and I have some fun stuff planned for her time here!
Summit Of Awesomeness– The Summit of Awesome is 3-days filled with business seminars for artists and crafters, hands-on workshops, the D.C. premiere of the Indie Craft Documentary, Handmade Nation, and a Saturday night party. Through a partnership with the MidCity Business Association, all Summit seminars and workshops will take place in the wondrous and vibrant independent businesses in MidCity (14th and U Streets NW). There will be informal tours of DC’s coolest indie shops and a welcome reception for early arrivals on Thursday, April 30th.
I have been meaning to post about this for awhile, and I am trying to work it out so I can go to the premiere of Handmade Nation at least!
