Crane + Headboard—

A few bedroom photos for you today :) I wanted to show you the awesome metal origami crane that a friend of Tom’s made for us. It has prongs that come off of it and actually hammer into the wall. So it sort of looks like its just floating. He also made us a really big green one too and that is hanging downstairs. Try to ignore all the flannel/sweatshirts on the back of the door.

Someone actually asked what we do for our clothes since we dont have a closet. We bought the Ikea bed with 4 big drawers underneath, we have a dresser, and the hooks on the back of the door for sweatshirts etc.

Next up I made us a headboard. I followed the great instructions here but after getting it hung on the wall and looking at it, I might take the whole thing down and add more batting! In person it does look tufted, but not nearly as much as the one in the tutorial. Plus my headboard is bigger, and I only used 1 inch foam, and 1 layer of batting. So I think it could use a few more layers of batting….we shall see. It will be super annoying to take down, remove all the fabric and buttons, but in the end will be worth it. :)

Your home is so beautiful and warm and snug. I like how you use bright colors, art, and whimsy but it feels very comforting. Sometimes I find that bright “modernish” homes are sterile. Lovely!

see, if I had a bed with storage drawers, all my craft stuff would be in there, and the clothes would stay in the laundry room– wait, that is how i keep my room, lol!

I think you did a great job! If it’s comfy enough to lean on a read a book in bed, I wouldn’t feel obligated to fix it. (this is if you’re looking for a reason not to re-do all your work. If you’re trying to convince yourself to do it over, then just ignore me!)

love it! the red looks amazing against the navy blue of the wall and of course the buttons had to be multicolored! I’ve been wanting to do this as well, but right now the only way our bed can go is against the windows- but that’s nice when it rains.

Im sure many of you are like me and one of the first things you do in the morning is head here and check out the new post. Along with seeing the new posts, I’m also always checking out the blog roll rss feed and watching them grow, or shrink sometimes. In one of my past …but all in all excellent site. Keep it up!
