As I mentioned my youngest son is turning 8 very soon, and had been saying he wanted his party to be a costume party. He actually has been saying that all year long. So for the invitations I decided to go with a costume sort of theme.
I wanted them to be like those books you can buy where you can flip the center part of the body, or the head and create a whole new look. I created a body/face template in photoshop and then just made various costumes/hats/hair for each costume. The last page in the little books is a solid page with all the party details. Then I used the comb binder which we already owned from a previous project to punch/bind them all.
I found it was much easier to punch and bind them first, and then use a exacto blade and ruler to cut the pages apart. I just made sure the solid final page of party details was folded back so it would not be cut during the process.
I made each one a little different by varying the page set up, and I did not match up the costumes when I made them, so when getting them printed, they are already all mixed up. B really seemed to like them, so that is always a good sign. Now we are turning our thoughts to the cake :)
i know im older than you but i want to be you when i grow up. Heidi I dont think you ever sleep or your brain ever stops working. I adore everything you do and these are brilliant.
