I had such a good afternoon thrift shopping with my sister yesterday, that I thought I should share some of the goodies I found. While I don’t “collect” salt & pepper shakers, I have quite a few. When I see ones I really love at a good price I can’t help it.

These Maw & Paw (and some times grandpa) mugs crack me up. We actually own a few others from other thrift trips.

And the best thing I found yesterday was 52 vintage kid’s books!! I walked into the thrift shop and there was a big line of people at the counter checking out/waiting to check out. I saw on the end of the counter they had a plastic tote that said “vintage kid’s book 50 cents each” I got so excited going through and making a giant pile of books that I wanted. The lady checking out next to me kept glancing over at me like I was crazy. I couldn’t even bring myself to walk over and get a cart, for fear that some one else would scoop the books up. But it appears I was the only person in the store giddy over vintage children’s books. When I finally had a pile of the books I wanted, I took them over to a cart and just felt like jumping up and down. When I got to the register the gal looked at my piles of books and just rang them in at $5!! That is less then 10 cents per book!! You can see all the books (except two big ones that I didn’t fit) laid out here. So many books for The Vintage Heidi :) :)

I am so ridiculously jealous of those books, what a score! I’m amassing quite a collection too but I’ve only ever got a couple at a time.
