I don’t really have any 4th of July decorations, but I do love any excuse to decorate & party. These garlands sew up super fast and add a little festivity to a July 4th dinner or picnic. If your eating outside you can drape them in a tree, or hang them around the table.
Gather up any red and blue papers you have. I like the mix up lots of various shades. Double sided paper works best! You can also dress up plain paper with washi tape.
Use paper punches to punch of shapes. If your paper is thin enough you can layer them and punch a bunch at once. I only had circles, but stars would be good too!
Make sure your sewing machine has red or blue thread (white would work too, but I think colored thread is a bit more festive!) and just start stitching, it doesn’t matter if there is a little blank thread between each circle, but its really easy to just feed in the circles as you sew. They sew up pretty fast.
Then clip the thread and hang!
