I hope everyone had a lovely holiday, no matter how you may celebrate. Thomas had off for four days in a row, starting with Christmas Eve and that was the best! It started snowing Christmas Eve day and we headed to my sister’s in the mountains and it was scary, but we made it and the snow stopped before we started the drive back home. We woke up to a white Christmas, and it was the first real snow we have gotten this winter.
The animals got some new gifts but all Miss Biscuit wanted to do was get into empty boxes, and Sirius was obsessed with the cat’s catnip mice over his own toys. Then in the afternoon we went to Tom’s parent’s house for a third Christmas with too much food, presents, and watched some family slideshows. I’ve been spending the snow days sewing clothes for my Blythe dolls. I gave my sister her very first Blythe for Christmas and her enthusiasm has me digging out all my doll stuff. It’s just much more fun when you have someone else involved. There has also been a total end of December-clean-out going on over here. Yesterday we decided to start to pack all the Christmas stuff up (early for us). Then we went through all our books and cleaned out more for donation. This week we are getting rid of one big Ikea shelf, and our old dining room table. We are hoping to have some one come and check out our house in January to see about getting a woodstove installed. Our hope is they can somehow utilize the old chimney, but we will have to see what the experts say.
I’ll be back soon with some photos of all the fun gifts I got this year. We’ve got another snow day today! Huge snowflakes have been falling for the past couple of hours and Kurtis left for his senior trip to the Bahamas on a cruise from Baltimore. He was pretty excited about New Year’s Eve on a cruise ship.
