May Crafternoon

This month for crafternoon we worked on embroidery projects. I was able to pick up a bunch of supplies at the Fabric Sale earlier this month, so I had plenty of hoops, threads, and some vintage patterns. Molly was kind enough to bring her stash of Sublime Stitching patterns, and of course I had mine to share.
I decided that this time we would do a early crafternoon, and had everyone over at 9:30am for breakfast treats. It was lots of fun, but maybe a bit early since a few of the gals have over an hours drive to my house, so I’ll stick to later times for awhile.
I didn’t get a finished photo of my embroidery which was from a vintage cat pattern. I plan to turn it into a little pot holder.

That looks like so much fun! I’d love to go to something like this – such a wonderful spread, embroidery and cat doughnuts!

  2. I’m often envious of your crafternoons! I don’t have a lot of friends who are crafty. I wish I did because I would love to host something like this!

Jessica, you should still do it! I would say only maybe 2-3 of the people that come would consider themselves crafty. What I’ve always said from the start is it is not about the finished craft, but an excuse to try things out, and keep our hands busy while we hang out. It is for sure an ice breaker and way easier then a party where everyone sits around and just sort of stares at one another :)

thanks Kate, you should throw one!

  5. Thanks for the encouragement! I might have to think about planning something like this anyway. :)

I really need to brush up on my embroidery skills.
