August is here, and oh so quickly! Yesterday was the August Crafternoon, I decided to shake things up and have a Summertime Christmas Fiesta. Everyone brought an item to contribute to a mexican feast, we swapped Christmas themed white elephant gifts, and make Christmas brooches from bits & bobs. Molly wore such a pretty blue embroidered Mexican dress (now I want one!), and we played Christmas tunes on the record player….good Christmas fun on a warm day in August ;)
Oh, I love those Jarritos drinks! I can buy them from our local Asian supermarket (I know, weird eh?). They taste a little bit like melted popsicles, but yummier (and I like that they aren’t made with corn based sweeteners like most soft drinks in North America)! :)
Nancy, the elf head was a cookie jar, but I bought it for $1 at an antique shop because its missing the lid/hat, I plan to plant a fake christmas tree in the head this year :)
Angela, I know I loved Molly’s dress–so cute and perfect! You should start your own crafternoon! Mine started really small with just a couple people—not all of them liked making things either, but then it grew and grew!

That sounds like the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon! How fun!
So much fun! Happy Christmas-ing in August! It’s never too early for celebrating, in my opinion. I’ve already started my holiday shopping. :)
Jessica, Ive started Christmas shopping already too haha
Cadry, im just glad everyone else was game ;)
Nat, my oldest son has always loved them, but I thought they’d be great for the party and then he could drink any leftovers.
I love this! Glad you had fun!!
I love Christmas so much, everything about it, but especially all the kitschy beautiful decorations (snowman fanatic)! I can’t wait!
What a fun theme! Now that I am a full time crafter I will have to start hosting my own crafternoons. Yours have always looked so fun!
I love the fork head.
Ann, I can’t wait to see photos of your crafternoons! :)
