Chicago 3

During our stay in Chicago Tom was going to be tattooing at Great Lakes Tattoo two of the days, which meant I’d have two days to do some exploring on my own. One morning I went to the MCA to see the Daniel Clowes exhibit, it was wonderful! I’ll say I glazed over quite a bit of modern art on my way up to the top floor, so I could spend a couple hours staring at his comic book panels. Oh and this is a helpful tidbit for the people who keep calling him Daniel Clothes haha, I heard a couple people say it during my trip. I have a funny habit of googling names I’m not sure how to pronounce before I am willing to say them out loud.
Oh and I was super excited to stumble across my kidrobot plush in the MCA gift shop.
We got vegan donuts & delicious coffee one morning at Fritz Pastry. The donuts are huge, so of course we had to take the rest to go, but I love how they put the donut hole back into the middle. I love just how many different ways there are to make a humble donut.
I promise my Chicago posts are almost over, it’s just such a great city with so much to see-so I hope you’re not bored of it yet.

The hole of the doughnut is really the best part.
I just read Ghost World last year. Can you recommend any of his other books for me to read?

Ohh, I was just in Chicago this past weekend for Renegade and I had time to check out the Daniel Clowes exhibit too! His perfect lettering and artwork blew me away! Loved seeing up close all of the comics, the collaged in paper/drawings where he had made a mistake, and those end walls with the huge carvings were insane. So much work!
