Animal Crossing 11th Birthday Party

B’s Animal Crossing party was yesterday afternoon, then we had a fun sleep over, and some house guests over today. It was a very full weekend! The party was super easy, we just ordered a bunch of pizzas, had some lemonade, animal crossing sugar cookies, and the cake. Since B is not a fan of cake he requested brownies. I made a tower of three brownies and covered them in peanut butter frosting (dyed green for grass) with little animal crossing toys on top.
We had the piñata (and a gorgeous day!) a few general games, and then a fishing tournament. Ahead of time I had printed out a bunch of fish, and attached puns to the back (which I copied from the game) Each fish listed it’s length (like the game) and had little magnets, the kid’s caught the fish with poles with string and paper clips and then we checked to see who had caught the biggest fish, based on the lengths listed on the back. I made sure not to make the measurements on the back correspond with the actual fish sizes, so it would be a mystery as to what size catch you’d end up with. The winner got a little trophy like the fishing tournament in the game.
For the little take home gifts I made up boxes with balloons. In the game animal crossing these some times float around in the sky and you use your slingshot to shoot them down & get a prize. Inside the boxes were mixed cds with music from the game (I’ll have some more info on those tomorrow) silly string, bells (more of the chocolate coins), stickers I made of the game characters using my xyron, and little QR codes we had picked out and printed.
I’ll have some more details on all those tomorrow and some files so you can make your own!

Don, thanks so much! I made the animal crossing tablecloth in photoshop by creating a repeat of the background grass pattern and then just laying over characters from the game. I had it printed with spoonflower. I figured after the party I could sew it into some shopping bags or something else fun

Jessica, you’re so sweet! The party was his idea, so I can’t take credit for that and he had loads of great ideas for take home boxes etc. It was lots of fun to plan!
