Embroidery & Bugs

I’ve been spending some of my down time in the evenings working on some embroidery. I have had the Aunt Martha Busy Bee iron-on patterns for quite awhile, and it felt great to finally use them! I’ve had a little bit of an obsession with cute bugs & insects with little faces lately. Once I finished my favorite bees I felt like I needed to draw a little bug to join them. I tried the red iron on pencil first, and felt it didn’t really leave a great pattern on my fabric, so in the end I traced it with a washable embroidery pen instead. I hope to get stitching on her soon.

Ack! The busy bees are so cute! I’ve got a small stash of Aunt Martha patterns, but I haven’t come across this one before- thanks for sharing. And your color choices are great!

That queen bee up top is one of the first designs I ever embroidered, and I just love the colors you chose for your project. So adorable!

Jenny, Oh I found this one in a mix of old sewing stuff at the thrift shop, it’s so cute! I’ve seen it online for sale too so it should be easy to find! :)
