Chicago 2

More snaps from our trip to Chicago last month…
We visited Oz Park (we had really great weather the entire trip), stopped at the Super Dawg Drive-In for some drinks and they had special commemorative cups! Then I bought little plush hotdogs (I already have the ceramic statue from a previous trip)
On one of our days there we stopped in a the Super H-Mart just outside of Chicago. There is a little shopping mall inside the store with a shop called Fancy Pencil Land. I got some really cute stationary & stickers, and these amazing South Korean boy band Exo-K socks. I was getting some terrible blisters from all the walking/the shoes I brought so these did the trick.
There was also a little bakery called Migahodo in the shops area that smelled so amazing. They make little walnut shaped cakes on the spot and you can watch them being made. Each cake is filled with red bean paste and a walnut, and are served hot.

I always search out the quirky fun places to go on vacation. My husband laughs at me. I want to sit in the mouth of the giant T-Rex on Pee Wee’s big adventure and watch the sun come up. But I would be happy going to the Oz Park too.

Oz Park! Would love to see that!

I have that on my to-do/wish/bucket list! Well, maybe not watch the sun come up in the dinosaur mouth, but just to visit it. I heard that it is part of a christian creationist park now?

I love these posts and had no idea about the Oz park or H Mart, so I will definitely be hitting those up soon.

I hope to someday make it to Chicago! I really want to go to Fancy Pencil Land. Haha. Just the name itself is too good. xD

Definitely going to bookmark all of that stuff into my Chicago folder. ;)

I love those hot dog guys! and those SOCKS! hahaha! we were going to go to little tokyo when we were in LA so I could buy lots of cute stuff, but we never made it. Next time! But we DID see the pee wee dinosaurs!

  8. Wow, we have a Super H near here but it is just a normal international grocery store. They do have a little food court area with about 5 windows for food (mostly Korean b/c there are a lot in the area) but definitely no little stores inside! It’s still awesome though ~ I wish it wasn’t so hard to go with 2 little ones.

  9. Heidi Kenney says:

Tiffany, Oh I bet it’s still so fun for shopping though, we don’t have a local international grocer-I wish we did

Robyn, It’s on my bucket list too!! I haven’t checked into it lately since we didnt have any west coast plans, but I wouldn’t doubt it-I know there is a creationist park with dinosaurs in Ohio I believe too.
I’m so excited to have something to share that’s new to you!! :)
