Handmade Gifts

While I didn’t get to make as many handmade gifts as I wanted to, I did get a few things done and even remembered to take some photos before I wrapped them. The purses were made using the “two zip hipster” pattern, they were fun to make.
The baby bonnet was from the purl bee, and the scarf was just crochet without a pattern. I probably picked a bad yarn for the baby bonnet and had some problems with pulling, and then kind of improvised near the end. Following knitting patterns is something I’d like to improve upon this year.

The purse you made for me was my most favorite Christmas gift! I love it. It is most perfect and the 2 outer pockets were greatly appreciated! Thank you, thank you!!

Those purses are so cute! I’ve never sewn in zippers before. They make me nervous.

  3. I love, love, love the bonnet! It’s amazing on Elspeth and so very soft. Plus, Sean looks super cute in his scarf, too. XOXO!

  4. Hiedi,
Your gifts are beautiful! I had a big list of handmade gifts I wanted to make for Christmas too…. sadly only a handful were made. I’ve been following you for a couple years now… though I’ve never commented, I feel I need to say a big THANKYOU for all the lovely inspiration you’ve provided over the years. Although living in Australia, my Dad is from Pennsylvania, and I’ve often visited my grandparents there. When I was in High School my Dad worked for a semester at Penn State, and I attended the local High School there, so its very exciting to see all your Pennsylanian related adventures to! Thanks for the great blog. Hope 2014 is a good one!!!

Persephone, I can’t understand your zipper fear, but its really easier then you think! I’m so lazy that I don’t even change to a zipper foot to sew mine haha
