Spooky Good

Some Halloween goodness for you today. #1 You will definitely want to check out Wisecraft’s DIY Halloween projects. She put them together for Value Village and are all made using recycled goods. See the owls I have up there-yep I followed her instructions for those, and I think they are awesome! I’m not a big fan of most store bought Halloween decorations. I think Martha Stewart does a good job with hers, but they are usually smaller paper like items. Anyhow, so I am pretty much in love with the projects Wisecraft put together, and plan to do a bunch more of them.

The top photo is some vintage style decorations I got while thrifting for .39 each. I can’t be sure if they are vintage or repro, but they are made by the Beistle company, and I love them.

I also made those little skeleton guys by using photos from Tom’s reference books, black felt, and iron on paper. I wanted to make more (I want a whole apple bowl filled with skulls) but I only had one sheet of iron on paper so I have to wait. :) Anyhow…there will be lots of decorating going on here soon–probably next week really haha.

Heidi! They look awesome, I love the eyes on those owls. Aren’t they fun? I’m so glad you like them. I like your cuckoo clock over on the left of the page more though ; D

The owl idea is great! What a wonderful use of something thrifted. I haven’t noticed any owls (or other plastic animals) at my local thrift stores, but I’ll have to be on the lookout!
