Today my mom and I woke up really early to get over to the fabric rummage sale. I got all of the fabrics pictured above, most of them are pretty large pieces too. I am considering cutting them all in half and putting the extra on ebay, I am not sure I will use them all up…but they were all too pretty to leave behind!
As you can see there were tables and tables of fabric. All of it was donated, and most of it was vintage. They were handing out bags to haul around your fabric while you shopped. I quickly filled my bag and then my arm got pretty full as well. Once I felt I had a good look at the fabric I went to check out, put it all in my car and then take a second look around. I grabbed a smaller bag for the second trip and took my time looking closely at everything they had to offer.
I am quite glad I went back around, because I somehow missed this awesome fabric the first time. It was one of the smaller bundles of fabric, and I think my most favorite one I got today. Most of the fabrics were pretty large sized, but they had one table of small bundles.
This was me waiting in line the second time, with my full bag. I found all sorts of fun stuff for spinning into my yarn also. They had a table with thread, ribbon, notions, etc.
They also had about 8 playpens filled with yarn. I tried to kind of skim when it came to the yarn, because I have such a large stash as it is, and its not something I use a ton of. It was hard though looking at all those playpens and only taking one or two skeins home with me.
Afterwards we went out to breakfast and then over to another rummage sale being held at a church. The second one was so exhausting because they had tables piled high with clothes and it was stuff a bag for $2. While I didnt find a ton of things for myself, I found some cute things for Sean + Amanda cause they are skinny-minnies and can wear youth size shirts with ease :) I also found some stuff for Tom and the kids…but the place was pretty picked over by the time we got there.
Tonight I have orders to pack, fabric to admire, and a busy busy weekend coming up. This weekend is the Sheep and Wool fest a little over an hour from my house, plus we have breakfast plans with Sean + Amanda again (I think its becoming a weekly thing) and a million other little things….what I could really use right now is a nap, but the kids and I are going to go play outside while its still light out, and then cook some veggie hotdogs on the grill, gotta love that warm wather for grilling!
