Today I hosted a shoe-glittering party that was a lot of fun and not nearly as messy as I anticipated. I went with Elsie’s instructions but then we took all our shoes outside (stuffed the insides with brown paper) and gave them 3 good coats (with time to dry in between) of Krylon Clear Gloss Spray
I covered the table with brown paper and that worked well for cleanup. We just rolled it on up after we were done and barely any glitter made it to the floor.
Parties are a great excuse for trying out some new recipes (you know the sugar laden ones that you don’t want 24 servings of in your house) I made a bunch of stuff but I’ll have to post about those tomorrow with a bit more detail.
Anyhow there was shoe (flats, fancies, boots, and little girl shoes) glittering and even one glittered dinosaur…good fun and now I want to find a fancy pair of shoes to glitter as the ones I used were some flats I got at Goodwill. Thanks to all your lovelies who made it out…I’m thinking we are gonna need to have another crafty party end of March? Amanda has more photos from today’s party on her blog here :)

I love this idea and have been wondering if the glitter can actually be sealed in. Yes, please report back!
that is a really fun party idea! i haven’t thrown one in so long. i love those cupcakes completely covered in sprinkles too. so crunchy and awesome!
I had so much fun Heidi! Thanks so much for having me :) Always a pleasure! I love your photos too. Great in action shots.
How fun is that. I’ve gotta try this. I’ve seen so many glittery shoes that I like. If I do, I will let you know what I come up with. Thanks for sharing.
