It has been so dark and gloomy for the past three days. The rain woke us up early with a thunderstorm Sunday morning and it has been gray ever since. I do love rainy days, but they make it very difficult to get decent photos. If I knew more about the art of photography perhaps I wouldn’t have such a hard time…but since I do not please forgive these gray photos.

Now when you combine gray days with large scale plush, yikes. I am beat, haha. I don’t have a set place for photographing large scale plush because normally the things I make are small enough to photograph on a table top. That is not the case with the Jack and The Beanstalk plush. I am still considering adding faces to all the leaves to make it a little more fun. I had wanted to create the Giant’s castle on top of the clouds but then realized it would need to be huge to be a Giant’s castle..so alas no castle.

Jack was fun to make and has bendy arms and legs so he can be posed all over the beanstalk. He is wearing a little dog shirt that was re-purposed from a baby pajama outfit I had thrifted. I’ll try and get some better photos next time we have good sun!
This is for the Crammed Organisms show(s) and only one of the four pieces I am making for it. I have started work on my second piece which is an Alice In Wonderland plush. Then I have two more to finish before the week is up!
Also a million thanks for all the cake love. Needless to say I am very behind on email right now but plan to get everything neat + tidy, read and replied before I leave!
Wonderful!! I’ve been reading your blog for about a year and this is amazing!
Your cakes were great also, thank you for sharing them!

I love how you’ve made Jack poseable too :-)
Comment by Vic 04.22.08 @ 6:39 amWow. You are the coolest.
And I can´t wait to see the Alice plush! The show sounds so interesting! You and your crafty, plush-making friends should join forces and do an European tour so that we here behind the seas could eat some eye candy too.
This is amazing! I can’t believe that you made that all by yourself. You completely rock, by the way!
