Christmas Cards

My cards arrived from Minted and I couldn’t be happier! I recently picked up a cheap little pen and ink set with ideas of writing all the addresses on my envelopes and I was thinking it was a little crazy and I probably wouldn’t be able to do it…until I actually played around the with quill and became totally obsessed. It was before my cards arrived so I amused myself one evening practicing by writing a pretend Christmas card list (yeah, that’s totally normal right?) I love writing with this little quill pen so much that I told Tom I was going to pack it and the pot of ink in my purse and pull it out whenever I had to sign receipts. Of course I joke, but normally I just don’t enjoy the act of writing, but something about the quill forces me to write slower? I don’t know what it is, but I love it.
Obviously I am no calligrapher, but it’s very pleasing indeed and after addressing over 25 envelopes today with to and from addresses, I am not burnt out on it either, I just want to write more.
Ok so I wanted to share with you my Santa Claus photo booth pictures. You can print it out on photo paper (I had mine done at Staples) and cut them into strips to tuck into cards, use as a holiday bookmark, etc.

Aaahhhh, dollface! What a sweet co-inky dink you’re bloggin’ about cards today as I literally *just* wrote your name & addy out & sent your cute li’l butt a Christmas card with lots of fun little goodies tucked inside this afternoon! :)

By the way, it’s like an early Christmas present being able to leave you comments again as for a few weeks there I wasn’t seeing the ‘leave a comment’ option anymore. I meant to write to you about it to see if maybe you had any input but YAY, all is back to normal again. I am so pleased! (But this means of course that you’re going to have to put up with all my crazyass comments again, ha ha!) ;)

Now before I buzz off, I NEED to tell you Heidi – seeing the holidays unfold at your home gets me SO in the Christmas spirit… you seem to me to be a natural born calligrapher & EEEK! Your Santa photo booth strips make me dizzy with delight!

Sheesh! A bottomless well of wonder – that is YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! xox! <333

  5. Santa photo booth pictures! That is such a cute idea! You always inspire me with your fun and creative nature. By the way, I learned calligraphy in high school in art class. I fell in love with it too!! We used the pens and the ink pots as well. I can’t remember how, but I ended up getting a paid job for a poster in a hospital doing calligraphy. It was a one time thing. I remember having to write a bunch of names on this big poster and it was going to be on display. I remember I had to figure out what I was going to charge…and I believe I charged $15 dollars. Oh the memories! I think I was about 16 years old. Too funny~! Thanks for bringing back an old memory!

Ivonne, I was really pleased with them actually, the paper feels really nice, and they came packaged really nicely too! I can’t stand reading the magazines that feel like they are printed on super thin paper, so I always appreciate a good feeling paper if that makes any sense :)

Missy, you always have the best comments! I have a card going out for you too and I still owe you a fun package, I bet if I start work on an Easter basket for you now I can have it be amazing and get it sent out to you just in time for Easter :)
