summertime

Yesterday I met my sister at a local lake for a few hours. The lake is man-made with a roped off area for swimming. This area of the lake has sand on the bottom, and they also added a small beach for sand castles and such.

Located in the Appalachian Mountains, the Appalachian trail actually passes through the park. We have hiked part of the trail from here in the past and there are some great views.

We found a nice shady spot under some trees to sit, talk, and read. Finally the sun moved so much that our shade was gone and we decided to pack up. Still it was a nice couple of hours out of the day.
