Blythe Knits

I got it in my head that I wanted to make a bunch of leggings for my Blythe dolls, so I created a yard of fabric to be printed on knit fabric. 40 different squares for polka dot, stripe, chevron, and one or two small print patterns. I have made two pairs so far (winging a pattern) and I am still trying to get an exact pattern down. At least I have plenty of fabric to work with! You can see my attempts here and here.

Those are some super tiny legs to make pants for. They are super cute tho. I get on kicks like that and get obsessed with making something in particular. It’s fun. I have been a follower of yours for awhile and I always enjoy your posts and wanted to invite you to visit my happy little blog and possibly follow me too. Keep the fun posts comming, I always enjoy them.

I know the feeling, leggings are hard to make. I found an online video that makes it look so easy. Since there is no written measurements or how to- I found it sorta difficult. oh the video is for pants but you can just make a bit longer to include foot. I’m sure you can figure it out. check it out!

Hehe, I did the same thing with Blythe knee high socks! I ordered an entire yard in the hopes I’d have every color sock I needed for promo shots. I made three pairs, and now I have a pile of unfinished socks.

Also, have you tried the Simplicity Blythe patterns yet? I believe that’s where my favorite tights pattern came from.

Blythe leggings seem so tedious to sew. My mom sent me a bunch of vintage, homemade Barbie clothes for my Blythes for Christmas. She knows me so well.

Persephone, yeah they are a little. I just dont cut the fabric until after its sewn, otherwise its so small and my darn machine wants to eat the edges! Thats so sweet of your mom :) :)

Jessee, oh how funny! Great minds think a like! I was going to try and tell myself to sew one pair a day, but we shall see how that goes. I’ll have to look for the patterns I havent tried them! Cant wait to see you Sunday

Susana, thanks so much for the link, I am going to check it out for sure! I dont even mind if I make them footless, I just figure it would be easier then sewing seams, but I just sewed the seam all the way across the fabric first and that worked well.
