Thrifted Quilt

I’ve had some quilt luck at the thrift shops lately, but I actually almost didn’t buy this beauty when I saw it at the thrift shop for $5 (I know, not sure what was wrong with me!) It was wrapped up and taped, so I couldn’t open it up, and so I stood there debating it until my sister told me that I needed to buy it, and I am so glad I did. It has beautiful hand stitching, and is so big and cozy. It has easily become one of my most favorite quilts to snuggle on the couch with. Life Lesson–when you see a handmade quilt for $5-you always buy it. always.

I cannot begin to count the number of times I’ve burned myself by not picking up something I was on the fence about at a thrift store. I think there has only been one solitary time an item was still there when I went back. Do I learn? Of course not! I’m glad your sister was there, the quilt is fabulous! What a great find. :)

i will ALWAYS pick up a quilt if it is 10 bucks or under! They are the best and i don’t want to have to worry about actually using it and messing it up because i paid 100 bucks at an antique store! That one really is beautiful!

Amber, I know!! My biggest thrift store regret was a few years ago they had a vintage tree stand with the cutest images of snowmen all over for 50 cents. I figured I didnt need a tree stand and left it behind, what was I thinking!!!

Jane, There is a really big community of Mennonite families in our area, so I feel like I’m used to it…but I do wonder about people who don’t have Mennonite or Amish living in their area :)
