working

I’ve been working on some new really big terrarium scenes. Here is a little peek, I am almost out of green felts, so I’ve had to order more before I can get back to working on them.
My terrariums are completely hand sewn, so its the best time for catching up on movies and shows. It’s sometimes hard to watch stuff when I’m sewing on my machine, even with headphones. For machine sewing I like listening to podcasts or music best. I’ll do a post soon on movies and shows I’ve been into lately, and would love to hear any recommendations that you love.

Valentine’s Update

febupdate
Valentine’s update will go live tomorrow morning (monday Jan 27th) at 9am, and then there will be a second update (same items just more again at 9pm EST, for anyone who would miss the first update due to work or school.
I reconfigured my bigcartel shop so it should be much more user friendly now! It will show as being in maintenance mode until 9am tomorrow.
I also was able to add instant downloadable files!! So I moved all the printable valentine’s over here and hope to keep adding more digital goods soon.

2013: 12 Months in (about) 12 photos

It’s hard to believe how quickly 2013 seemed to fly by, putting together this little review is one of my favorite things to do at the end of a year to reflect back on all the things I’ve forgotten about, you can see last year’s post here: 2012, much of the photos from year’s 2011, 2010, and 2009 were deleted when I went through and removed thousands of photos from Flickr.
2013 was the year…
-I hosted 9 crafternoons!!
-a bunch of new kid robot plush came out
-there were Blythe meet-ups
-a couple of in-state road trips
-a cat party for my guy who turned 10
-my collaboration with Peter Alexander launched in Australia
-I had my first Yummy trading party in NY
-tried my hand at selling at a flea market booth (fail!)
-made some silly cat donuts
-Kurtis graduated, turned 18, and went off to college!!!!
-I curated my first art show The Little Golden Years
-had a Yummy signing in FL
-celebrated 10 years of blogging
-took a trip to Chicago with Thomas
-got 5 new tattoos
-sewed a bunch of stuff
-took a road trip to Salem MA & Maine
-Went to Blythecon in NYC
-celebrated 11 years of marriage
Besides all these gems it was also the year that I did terrible when it came to working out & eating right-damn the donuts!!! I found out there is a company ripping off a few of my designs and putting them in claw machines, and 2013 was the year that my grandfather passed away, and my uncle lost his battle with lung cancer. Despite the lows, this year has been mostly highs and I am so grateful for that.
In 2014 I’d like to make more, travel more, and try new things!
I also have a goal of reading 50 books this year, I’m almost finished book #1.
