Back from Boston!

We arrived home from Boston last night around 9:30pm, sleepy and tired from such a long ride home. I tried to get caught up on all the emails (yet another reason I am considering a laptop) and tried to respond to the ones that needed an immediate answer…..

The Bazaar Bizarre was amazing (as always) The building they used (The Boston Center For The Arts) was so large and spacious. Though there still ended up being a huge line out front (due to the amount of people exceeding fire code) That is a lot of handmade shoppers!

I sold so much stuff, and had to keep dipping into my extra stash of plushies under the table to refill everything, but by the time 8 o’clock rolled around my table was looking pretty shabby!

I am going to post more photos on my flikr account, which you can see here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/62816031@N00/ We had such a good time, and the weather was actually really great the whole stay. We left Boston on Tuesday morning and headed over to Easthampton MA to meet Kevin Scalzo http://www.kevinscalzo.com and his wife Djerba http://www.reprodepot.com
They were both so awesome, and even took us upo to see Reprodepot and Kevin’s studio. Let me just say the shelves and shelves of amazing fabric were almost too much to bear! Kevin had a huge painting out that he was working on, and Tom and I both were just amazed. I showed them both tattoos I have of Kevin’s work, and it was just a really nice time.
I also did some serious shopping in their new store Peanut http://www.ilovepeanut.com I will actually be selling some of my stuff there after the holidays. But if your near East Hampton you really should check it out! They have such great stuff, and and…loads of Cram Cream brand goodies!

Tomorrow we leave for Boston, so today I am putting the finishing touches on all my stuff. I spun up a little bit of yarn. About 10 skeins for the show. These three are my favorties! I think I am going to have to recreate the pink puff balls one again for myself.

I also of course have a few little woodblock collages. Three little paper hats…

Sometime last week I was driving and get an incoming call on my cell phone. It comes up as “no number” so I am assuming its a telemarketer…I answer and the person asks for me, and I hang up…thinking “yep..telemarketer” Well they call back (this is where it becomes clear, its not some one calling to tell me I may have won a diamond tennis bracelet. So I answer..same guy…He says he is with the Boston Globe and would like to interview me for an article they are doing on the Bazaar Bizarre. Man, I felt dumb…I am sure he knew I hung up on him, but took my excuse of “I’m on a cell phone, it must have cut out”..such a nice guy! Today the article is in the paper…and look my happy little breads on the cover!

I don’t have a copy, so I havent been able to read the article yet…But the nice guy I hung up on is bringing me a copy at the Bazaar :)

I also got an email the other day from Caylie in Australia asking if I new I was in an Australian magazine called Get Creative http://www.getcreative.com.au/ . I emailed the magazine and asked if I could get a copy. Its a great two page spread about the Renegade craft fair. Jenny Frecklewonder there is a shot of your table in there too! Its hard to read but the text reads: “One of the most unusual vendors we had was My Paper Crane who made plush food items like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, burnt toast, and donuts.”
