Please excuse the bad photos…Its rainy and pretty dark outside so its hard to get a good shot. This big blue cake (once adorned with faces of course) will be heading to the show “Feast Your Eyes” in Lansing MI. If your in the area the website is http://www.scenemetrospace.com (but it doesn’t look like it has been updated recently) The show opens Friday Jan. 27th and looks like it should be really cool. All artwork with various food themes. (SCENE) metrospace is located on the corner of Abbott and Albert.
The picture above was taken by the talented Karen of Kra-o-la She took some great photos of last years show! If you look closely you can see my super tall ice cream cone, burnt toast and cupcake on the top of the shelf…
Plush You II! Now at Fancy, Schmancy and Pants in Seattle.
The trilogy of awesome, Fancy, Schmancy and Pants have decided to join forces to make Plush You II! bigger and better. We would like to invite you to participate in the event of the year.
Last August, Schmancy had its’ first Plush You event in Seattle, WA. We showcased various plush creations from fifty artists from all over the world. So much so that we decided to make it an annual event. Sally Brock, of Fancy and Pants, decided to get in on the action to make it a bigger and better event.
This year the event will be held on October 6th 2006.
Due to the overwhelming response to the show we have had to change the application process a bit to accommodate all those interested.
To join in the festivities contact curator, Kristen Rask, at email@example.com with your name, website info (if any), location and a few images of the kinds of work you do. 150 artists will be selected and then contacted with further information about the show. Each artist will be allowed to submit three pieces for the show.
All submissions will need to be in by Feb 15th 2006.
This is a great way for you to get your name and work out to the public!
We Love You!

While browsing clothes at Goodwill I came across a shirt with really great texture. While I would never wear this puffy white shirt, I knew it would make a great meringue for pie. The above pie is the first experiment with the meringue, and I already know a few small changes I will be making for the next slice. The only bad thing is I will probably get about ten slices out of the entire shirt. Which I suppose isn’t necessarily bad, it just means more searching for whipped creamy meringuey fabrics.
The apple tree is finished for the food show, now onto working on some food sculptures to hang on the wall!
A few days ago I got out our digital video camera. We had stopped using it for awhile because it seemed like the battery could no longer hold a charge and we needed to buy a new one. Well, you know how that goes. It gets put off, forgotten about etc. Well I let it charge all day long and it works again perfectly! So its back to documenting our family for future veiwing pleasure. Last night Tom and I stayed up watching almost 4 hours of old footage. From our wedding to brand new baby stuff! Some things we never even remember recording! Plenty of me being a total goober (think dressing up in odd costumes, making faces, + you get the point) I have to say the camera was one of the best purchases.
