Heidi’s Haunted House

Earlier this season I created a paper piecing pattern for a haunted house. You can find it in my shop here. While my pattern will not teach you how to paper piece (also some times called foundation piecing) I did have a gal who tried it out (her first time paper piecing) and it worked out great. If you want a great tutorial to get you started with paper piecing I suggest this one. Next up I am trying out my house with Christmas fabrics to see what I can come up with.

Halloween Quilt

I’ve been slowly working on a Halloween quilt. My friend Jessee came up with a coffin dresden pattern and since I could not leave well enough alone I had to try and use paper piecing to create little windows in the coffins. She now has included my little hack with her pattern incase you’d like to make occupied coffins too. Hopefully I’ll get my quilt finished before Halloween!

Bento Box

I made a fabric bento box, using my bento box fabric. I used a pattern from the book Stash Happy: Patchwork by Cynthia Shaffer. Lark books had posted the project for free online here. I made a few changes to the pattern by lengthening the handles and not adding a patchwork flap. I am planning to use it to store bento supplies. I tried it out with some of my washi tape, markers, and little wrapped candy, it holds quite a bit more then I expected.
I think it would make such a cute gift for someone filled with your favorite asian candies like Pocky, Matcha Kit Kat , or my favorite Konpeito
