Plush Of The Month Club boxes for quarter one shipped on March 1st. Since it felt like Spring would be just around the corner I went with a garden theme. The plush radish, a seed pack of organic lettuce seeds, and a realistic gummi worm (supposed to be rootbeer flavor which is an interesting choice for an earthworm) all packaged inside a green cardboard carton like you might see at a farmer’s market.
Plush Of The Month Club for September was a “back to school” theme. Plush pencils, apple zippered pencil pouches with pencils and gum. The gum was almost a joke since the whole “no chewing gum in school” I was really disappointed because at first I had planned to buy Bazooka Joe gum (because they come with a cute little comic) but turns out they don’t make them that way any longer.
August POM’s club boxes were sort of a last hoorah of Summer, Summer camp themed. I wanted everyone to get excited about the theme even before they opened the boxes so I created tiny pennants that were tied to string. The plush was of course a s’more, but the box also included a little kit to make a “god’s eye” (a classic Summer camp craft), fire balls (which always remind me of the kind of candy you could find at a camp store, all those penny candies!) a pennant (for decorating your bunk) and a welcome camper letter explaining everything in the boxes. I had lots of fun putting these together, and hope they gave a little Summer camp nostalgia to my subscribers.
