Lake Tobias

The day had been calling for scattered rain showers so we weren’t sure what to expect, but it turned into a beautiful clear day.
Lake Tobias was started in 1965 by JR Tobias, and his wife still lives in a farmhouse on the property. Our favorite part of the trip was the safari tour. You ride in an open top bus across 150 acres of beautiful hills on a one hour tour. There are all kinds of animals that greet you from alpaca, emu, bison, to water buffalo.
There is also a petting zoo, reptile house, and a section of the park set up like a more typical zoo. It was a nice way to wrap us to wrap up the Summer with one last road trip.
